Historic Downtown Grand Saline

Grand Saline was designated an official Texas Main Street City and began the program January 2004. This statewide program is a division of the Texas Historical Commission, which promotes downtown revitalization through historic preservation. Free professional services are provided by the state office in areas such as architectural consultation, restoration, economic development, board training, strategic planning, interior design, marketing, and organizational assistance and other areas where the local community may not have local expertise. Grand Saline has been recognized as a National Main Street City by the National Trust for Historic Preservation for several years.

Vision

  • Downtown Grand Saline will be a thriving destination, where locals will have a personal stake in the vitality of the heart of the community and our salty roots are recognized and preserved.

Mission

  • Grand Saline Main Street program will lead the charge to create an appealing destination; expand volunteer base to insure a sustainable program, preserve the salty history of Grand Saline through education and awareness, and raise funds to achieve the objectives of the program.
